Doris brings with her over 10 years of experience in banking, finance, and consulting in sustainable finance. During that time, she gained invaluable skills in strategic planning, financial management, and sustainability—skills that have become the backbone of Lamu Décor’s growth and resilience. Her unique blend of professional expertise and creative passion has allowed the brand to flourish, balancing artistry with long-term vision.

Why “Lamu”? 🌊

The name “Lamu” was chosen with intention. Doris has always been captivated by the architecture, artistry, and furniture-making skills of local artisans in Lamu, inspired by the magical blend of Arabic and Swahili cultures. Her travels to Lamu left a lasting impression: serene courtyards, carved wooden doors, airy furniture that seemed to breathe with the ocean breeze.

For her, Lamu symbolized peace, lightness, and timeless beauty—qualities she wanted every Lamu Décor piece to embody.
