Our First Pop-Up Experience at BizBaz!

September 27th & 28th will always hold a special place in our hearts — it’s when Lamu Décor participated in its very first market pop-up at the BizBaz event, held at KSTVET in Gigiri.

This milestone was more than just an event for us; it was a moment of connection, discovery, and pure joy as we stepped out to meet our community face-to-face and share the passion behind what we create.

From the moment we set up our tent, the atmosphere was electric — filled with music, laughter, and creativity all around. The BizBaz market was beautifully curated, with an incredible mix of local artisans and Kenyan-made brands.

Launching Our New Designs

We took BizBaz as the perfect opportunity to launch several new pieces, and we’re thrilled with how warmly they were received!

Among the highlights were:

• 🪵 The Mraba Coffee Table – clean, elegant, and versatile. A minimalist piece that quickly became a crowd favorite.

• 🍴 The Jikoni Collection – our exciting new kitchen range featuring handcrafted wooden chopping boards, trays, napkin holders, candle holders, sauce holders, menu holders, bowls, and even wooden wine glasses. A celebration of functional design and natural beauty.

• 🪑 The Safari Bench – comprised of woven and a one of a kind safari fabric is a piece that embodies comfort and adventure. It found a new home the very same day it was unveiled!

• 🌸 The Maua Console and Maua Buffet Table/Credenza – both showcasing graceful design and timeless craftsmanship, with handcrafted flower designs on each piece.

• 🖤 Afro-Style Cushion Covers – bold, stylish, and full of character — a true reflection of African artistry that everyone loved!

Each of these pieces was handcrafted by our talented artisans, blending tradition and modern aesthetics to bring authentic Kenyan design into your home.

Being our first-ever pop-up, we didn’t know what to expect — but BizBaz turned out to be everything we hoped for and more. We met amazing people, made new friends, and received incredible feedback that will continue to inspire our collections.

We are beyond grateful for the support, for every smile, and for every story shared under our tent. We’re already looking forward to our next pop-up — with more unique designs, more interaction, and even more love for handmade Kenyan furniture and décor.
